VW 1303 1973 Sahara Beige 1:18

The VW 1303 has its origins in an American draft law, which was ultimately not applied. This draft law required, among other things, a minimum distance between the windscreen and the driver's head, which could only be achieved in the Beetle with a curved windscreen. VW built the vehicle anyway - and marketed it in the USA as the ‘Super-Beetle’.

Sahara beige was one of the most popular colours for the VW 1303, with numerous vehicles populating the roads of West Germany in the 1970s. Less common were the whitewall tyres, which nevertheless looked exceptionally good on this model!
