In Japan, an itasha is a car decorated with images of anime, manga or video game characters. The decorations usually involve paint schemes and stickers.

Cars can be seen prominently in places such as Akihabara (Tokyo), Nipponbashi (Osaka) or Ōsu (Nagoya), or at Itasha-based events such as the Odaiba Itasha Tengoku.

Itasha only applies to cars. There are different names for vehicles with itasha characteristics, such as itansha for motorbikes, itachari for bicycles, itabasu for buses, itatorakku for trucks, itadensha for trains and itahikōki for aircraft.
